The one thing we’ll say in Netflix’s favour is that it doesn’t give up. Despite overwhelming evidence that it’s in over its head, and undeserving of a second chance, it’ll keep trudging along until it eventually stumbles upon the right answer. Netflix, the streamer, will host Tudum the Event on the platform directly on 31 May 2025.
Ta-da!
If you weren’t aware, Tudum is Netflix’s “premier global fan event”, named, perhaps unsurprisingly, for the ‘TUDUM’ sound effect that’s become synonymous with the streamer. And our favourite shows being cancelled, now that we think about it. It’s a place where Netflix gathers its fans to show off what’s arriving in the coming months, with appearances from directors, actors, and creators.
It’s a change from the previous tradition that saw Tudum live-streamed just about everywhere that isn’t Netflix. But now that the streamer has dived headfirst into the game, it’s taking another crack at making it work. We don’t need to remind you what happened the last time it tried to put on an entertaining bout, do we?

Netflix’s big Tudum event, hosted in 2023 in São Paulo, Brazil, garnered the gaze of at least 22,000 eyeballs in person, with Netflix claiming another 78 million views across all its socials. This being the first Tudum officially under the Netflix streamer, we expect the 2025 edition to be bigger than ever. Fingers crossed it pans out for the streamer.
Tudum also lives on as a companion website to Netflix’s streaming platform, serving a similar function to the in-person events with behind-the-scenes footage, release dates, and more being pumped out on the regular, catering specifically to your own Netflix account. The streamer teased that we’ll hear more news about the upcoming event on the companion website in the coming months, so keep your eyes open.
