Snoopy in space
One of the world’s goodest boys, Snoopy, will be heading to space in early 2022 in NASA’s Artemis I mission. The mission will serve as a test flight for NASA’s new SLS (Space Launch System) rocket which will put the first woman and person of colour on the moon. Snoopy won’t be joining the crew on the surface but his test-flight suit will be fitted with a zero-gravity sensor that the ground crew will use to monitor when the fluffy astronaut has left Earth’s gravitational field.
This isn’t the first cross-over for Charlie Brown’s best friend and the American space org. That was back in 1969 on the Apollo 10 mission. During one of the final test flights and scouting missions, astronauts Gene Cernan, John Young, and Thomas Stafford were tasked with flying close to the moon’s surface to ’snoop around’ the Apollo 11 landing site, scouting where Apollo 11 would eventually land. Naturally, this lead to the crew naming the lunar module Snoopy and the Apollo command module Charlie Brown.
Snoopy won’t be alone on this mission, he’ll be joined by a mannequin also fitted with sensors to provide NASA with more info about how the different stages of the flight affect humans that will take the same route in 2024.

GTA Remastered Trilogy is back online
Rockstar has once again made its newest release, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition available through the Rockstar Games Launcher. Shortly after its release, the publisher removed the game for purchase and download while it fixed a few things and removed unintentional files from this game version as well. Where have we heard that one before? The publisher doesn’t say any more than that, leaving fans to wonder if this is a repeat of the ‘Hot Coffee’ incident of the original game.
That, along with the reported glitches, bugs and overall lack of polish hasn’t made for a great launch. To make matters worse, the Rockstar Game launcher apparently went down for maintenance on Thursday which not only affected the new GTA Trilogy but Rockstar’s entire platform, including game library, store, downloads and cloud save system.
The launcher is back online now and the new GTA trilogy is available for purchase and consumption once again. But it might be worth waiting a little longer for them to iron out most of the bugs before spending your hard-earned money on something you might not enjoy.

Tax the Rich Round 2: Elon vs Bernie
Elon Musk is at it again. Following his recent Twitter poll on whether he should sell 10% of his Tesla shares, the SpaceX CEO followed through and began selling shares when the poll closed with 57.9% voting ‘yes’, leading Tesla shares to drop 9% last Monday. Musk said in the Twitter thread that he doesn’t receive a cash salary or bonus that can be taxed. So essentially he was asking if people think he should pay tax. Everyone said yes. As altruistic as that might seem, according to Business Insider, he had already put a sales plan into action almost two months before the poll.
Senator Bernie Sanders didn’t want to find himself out of the ‘tax the rich’ conversation. The octogenarian tweeted “We must demand that the extremely wealthy pay their fair share. Period.” Musk responded, asking Sanders if he should sell even more stock. Looks like it’s Bernie’s move in what is ultimately the most meaningless chess game for the year.
Blue Origin Space Classes are in
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to be in space? The experience of zooming up beyond the atmosphere, floating around in zero gravity and then plummeting back to Earth in a rocket may not be too far off for the average joe. In order to prepare people for what is surely a life-changing experience — or at the very least, pretty cool — Jeff Bezos’ space company Blue Origin is teaching its space tourists many valuable lessons.
Perhaps the most important of which, and the question that keeps many people up at night, is what to do when you return to earth and there is a cactus in the way. According to Chris Boshuizen, who joined William Shatner on their 13 October to-the-edge-of-space flight, you have to wait for the ground crew to come and push the cactus over with steel-toed boots. So there you have it, folks, if you ever encounter a cactus upon your descent to Earth, wait for the ground crew.
