South Africa’s homegrown streaming service launched its fleshed-out version of the app in 2020 called Showmax Pro. You may want to spend R450 a month to stream primo sports content in South Africa, especially considering the service now officially licensed the UEFA Euro 2020 league.

Football fans will be elated to hear that all matches in the 60th Euro 2020 will be available to stream on the Pro package between 11 June and 11 July this year, which is when the league is taking place. The Euro 2020 will be held in 11 cities across 11 countries and is probably the first live sports event to do so following the global pandemic. “Portugal will be defending the championship, although France, Belgium and England are all rated higher, and will be playing with high expectations from fans,” the press release reads.

That’s sporting of Showmax

“We know that Africa is football mad, and we’re thrilled that more people will be able to stream the matches on the go or at home,” says Yolisa Phahle, MultiChoice CEO for general entertainment and connected Video.

“Being able to offer this high-class tournament to sport fans on the Showmax streaming platform is an exciting addition to the many SuperSport platforms that offer viewers top-tier sport,” says Marc Jury SuperSport chief executive.

The service’s Pro tier rolled out in June 2020, and thanks to Multichoice’s partnership with SuperSport, it features live access to sporting content from around the world. Showmax Pro costs R450 a month, compared to R100p/m for the base package and R40p/m for the mobile version.
