Apple’s Q2 event may have been spilled a little early but it was only a matter of time before it was announced. It’s called Spring Loaded and it kicks off on 20 April at 10:00 PDT. Here at home, Apple’s newest announcement takes place on the same day at 19:00 SAST.
Spring Loaded.
Apple’s tagline is always a point of speculation, so that’s just what we’re going to do. Obviously, it references the time the event takes place this year, and Apple’s event is likely to be ‘loaded’ with content for us to marvel over. But there’s also the possibility that the company has a new Apple Pencil on the way — which may have a button, but it might also dock inside a case, or possibly a new iPad.
There’s no suggestion that this is the case, but Apple does often manage to keep some of its secrets before a launch takes place. It’s possible that we’ll see a few new iPad models announced at the Spring Loaded event — which would favour a new Apple Pencil dropping at the same time — with upgraded processors (along the lines of the M1), improved cameras and USB-C support being a possibility. Odds are we’ll see Apple’s AirTags, and perhaps a few more items we’ve been expecting, like updated AirPods. We’ll have to wait for the night of the event, unless something leaks before next Tuesday.
