Later this month Huawei will be launching its first-ever WiFi 6 plus router, which offers users faster speed, larger capacity, lower latency and less power consumption.
What is WiFi 6 plus?
WiFi 6 plus is the new generation WiFi standard and is supported by 5G. Huawei has become a major contributor to the Wi-Fi 6 plus standard and has also introduced many advanced 5G technologies into Wi-Fi 6 plus. In the near future, Huawei’s WiFi 6 plus routers will play a key role as connection centres in Huawei’s seamless smart life scenarios. The HUAWEI WiFi AX3 is the start of this evolution.
The advantages of WiFi 6 plus
WiFi 6 plus delivers in all aspects you need it to. Compared to the previous generation, WiFi 6:
- Is three times faster – it supports a frequency bandwidth of up to 160 MHz
- Has four times more capacity – multi-user technology allows multiple devices to share the spectrum
- Has two-thirds lower latency – interference is avoided
- Uses 30% less power – its on-demand wake-up functionality reduces power consumption
Some cool features of the Huawei WiFi AX3
The Huawei WiFi AX3 quad-core version delivers the highest performance, fastest speeds, and strongest signal compared to other 3000 Mbps Wi-Fi 6 routers. This is because it is equipped with the powerful quad-core 1.4 GHz Gigahome CPU, which boosts the Wi-Fi 6 speed to over 1 Gbps, so an HD movie can be downloaded in just 10 seconds. This CPU’s great performance also means multi connections without latency.
With the Huawei WiFi AX3, your signal strength is greatly enhanced – so much so that it can go through an extra wall. The Huawei WiFi AX3 (Quad-core) is equipped with two independent signal amplifiers, and the Huawei WiFi AX3 (Dual-core) is equipped with two, delivering better signals for all devices, even if they are not equipped with WiFi 6.
The Huawei WiFi AX3 supports wireless networking, network cable networking, and the hybrid networking of wireless and network cables. After networking, the optimal Wi-Fi is automatically selected based on the device’s location. The Huawei WiFi AX3 can also network with certain previous Huawei Wi-Fi routers to expand network coverage in the home.
Huawei Share and the Huawei WiFi AX3 (Quad-core) also make lives easier for users as they can simply tap NFC-enabled phones on the Huawei WiFi AX3 (Quad-core) to connect to the Wi-Fi. This is useful for when you have visitors, as it means they can connect to your Wi-Fi with a simple tap. This also keeps your password safe.

Speaking of security, Huawei HomeSec on the Huawei AX3 ensures that you are protected against brute force cracking as it automatically identifies Wi-Fi cracking apps by detecting passwords that have not been entered manually, and then blacklists the attacker.
The Huawei AX3 Dual-core will be available from 1st December at a price of R1,499 at the Huawei online store and you will receive and addition R200 Huawei online store voucher if you purchase the HUAWEI AX3from the 1st to the 6th December. The AX-3 Quad-core will be available in South Africa in 2021.
