Watch out Apple — Pablo Escobar’s brother has made a foldable phone

To be honest, we’re not quite sure if this is an elaborate hoax just yet. But Roberto Escobar, the brother of Pablo Escobar (yes, the drug kingpin) has made a foldable phone called the Fold 1. And the promotional videos call out Steve Jobs directly, and… what is happening?

First things first, the Escobar Fold 1 is a foldable device (although you won’t see the actual display in this advert) with a 7.2in AMOLED FHD+ screen when folded. It’s powered by a Snapdragon 8150 chipset and 6GB of RAM with 128GB of space.

But the fun definitely doesn’t stop there. The newly established tech company has developed and published a range of promotional videos for the Fold 1, and we feel confused… very confused.

“Apple Boy Steve once looked into space”

According to the promotional videos, this phone not only scares Steve “Apple Boy Steve” Jobs posthumously but also commands the attention of women. Women in lingerie to be exact.

This isn’t the company’s first foray into the realm of tech. A few months ago Escobar Inc announced its flame thrower and explained that Elon Musk stole their idea/design. Nevertheless, the company continued by posting videos of barely-clothed women using the flamethrower on YouTube.

Among the few videos the company hosts on its YouTube channel, there is one that actually shows the display folding in action. It looks, fine. We won’t go as far as saying it will dethrone Apple or Samsung. Though we would love to get our hands on one and put it to the test.

The initial run of the Escobar Fold 1 is limited to 100,000 phones. A 128GB version is priced at $350 (around R5,200), while a 512GB version is $500 (R7,300). The phone is exclusively being sold from Escobar’s website.
