You don’t need diesel in your veins, grease under your fingernails or horsepower calculations running through your head to enjoy the Festival of Motoring at Kyalami Gand Prix Circuit this weekend.
The event runs from 22 – 25 August (aka this weekend) and features a whole lot more than just cars. Visitors can expect an array of family entertainment, high-speed racing on the track, self-driving and 4×4 experiences as well as an opportunity to take selfies with leading manufacturers’ latest models and iconic classics.
A highlight for the Stuff team was the new Audi e-tron unveiled at a special media event before the show proper. However, the noticeable absence of other electric vehicle manufacturers is somewhat disappointing. Even so, whether you love the smell of new interiors, the exterior design or the screeching tyres and grunting engines of mechanical works of art racing around a track (or in the case of the e-tron, silence) there’s bound to be something for everyone to enjoy. We certainly did.
Tickets range between R20 – R525 per person and are available via Howler. Not quite convinced yet? Head to the website for more info, and check out the pics from Stuff‘s recent grease-monkey adventure below.
