Sony’s PlayStation VR launch date may have been outed (and it’s a delay)
It’s no secret that we’re keen on Sony’s PlayStation VR but there is, as yet, no official launch date for the virtual reality hardware. That is, unless you are GameStop’s CEO, who dropped the information that the kit would be appearing in his stores “this fall” and that the hardware would be exclusive to GameStop – in the States, at least. That’s around September, for those of you who don’t speak Americanese. This would represent a slight delay, as we were all expecting it around the end of June at the latest, based on Sony’s own vague announcements. GamStop has since issued a statement, saying “Sony has not officially announced a release date for PlayStation VR.” But we’d expect them to say that, especially if Sony are yelling at them for dropping the ball like that.

Only play the Call of Duty multiplayer? Now you can (and you can pay less) on PC
This is either awesome or the start of a disturbing trend. Or Activision really, really likes money. We’re not sure which one it is… Either way, Activision have gone and launched a multiplayer-only version of Call of Duty: Black Ops III for the PC. No, that is not a misprint. Called the Multiplayer Starter Pack, players can pick up the online-only side of the game for just R200 – plus all the cash Acti can squeeze out of you for DLC, map packs, microtransactions… It’s quite brilliant, really. And just to add fuel to the fire, you can only purchase it until 29 February this year. Because that’s not supposed to play on your psychology at all, right guys? The game mode is limited, as you can’t make custom MP games, access the campaign or zombies mode (or any other non-MP mode) or access Prestige and a few other things. But if you act now, you can throw your money at Activision for no good reason. Sheesh, you’d think that they’d bought a controlling stake in King.com or something the way they’re going on. Wait…

Fallout 4’s DLC is headed our way in March – and it’s about to get more expensive
Fallout 4 fans! You thought it was over? You thought wrong. The first batch of DLC for Bethesda’s apocalyptic title will be launching onto the market in March – at an unspecified time. Called Automatron, players will be able to build custom robot companions from scraps harvested from evil robots. Then there’s the Wasteland Workshop, which will let you trap and train enemies. So stage gladiatorial combat, replace your dog with a Deathclaw, that sort of thing, in April. Far Harbor, the third announced DLC, will send you off doing more cases with Valentine in a place called… Far Harbor. Problem is… the price for the Season Pass is going up on 1 March, from $30 to $50. Expect a corresponding jump for the local market.

Here’s the start of Telltale’s The Walking Dead: Michonne
The Walking Dead has its fair share of fans, people who will religiously sit and watch each episode to find out what will happen next to Rick Grimes and co. One of the best things about the series is that they gave video game duties to Telltale Games – we don’t talk about The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct. Even Daryl couldn’t save that one. Telltale’s outings, on the other hand, are pure art, which makes up for the episodic releases. And Telltale has something new on the way, with The Walking Dead: Michonne. Above you’ll find the opening minutes of gameplay and we have some good news. TWD: Michonne will cover her backstory as well as fill in some of the gaps from the comic series. So fans of all aspects of the series should be pleased. Except if you’ve got an inordinate fondness for Walkers. The first episode launches on 23 February. Mark your calendars.
