Coming on the heels of a price drop announcement for the PlayStation 4 in the States and Europe, we’ve just gotten confirmation that there’s a price drop for the console heading to South Africa. Effective immediately.
That’s good news for people on the fence regarding a new console but there’s a caveat in store. The price drop is only applicable to the 500GB PlayStation 4 console – so instead of having a recommended price of R6,000, the 500GB PS4 has an RRP of R5,500.
That doesn’t include any special edition consoles, nor is the 1TB PlayStation 4 console included. Bundles are also excluded from the drop as well. Last but not least, the price drop is from Sony themselves so some retailers might decide that they like the R5,999 price, You know what to do about them, right?
Now we’re expecting a similar announcement from Microsoft regarding the 500GB Xbox One console. Which should be happening any second now…
