It’s somewhat short notice but Call of Duty: Black Ops IV is getting a bunch of new (paid-for, let’s not get too excited) content in the shape of Operation: Apocalypse Z. The new add-on, as the title suggests, brings more than its fair share of the shambling dead to Activision’s online shooter.
Call of Duty series is all about making as much cash for Activision’s shareholders as possible. Hence, all the microtransactions. And since Fortnight and PUBG have mobile versions, it was only a matter of time before Call of Duty Mobile appeared.
Okay, okay, so there’s hasn’t any sort of backlash against this new announcement but we had to take a shot at Activision after what happened during the announcement of Diablo Immortal. Acti has revealed Call of Duty Mobile, a smartphone-focused title designed to take on the likes of PUBG and Fortnite on Android and iOS. Because if those folks can release successful smartphone shooters, so can Activision. Right?
