First Apple was apparently doing it, then Samsung followed suit. Now Google is the latest company to be rumoured to be working on a smartwatch device.
Digital Trends says that Google is rumoured to be working on an Android-based smartwatch, citing a Financial Times report for the information. The device will apparently be paired with a conventional smartphone, likely along the lines of the Pebble watch which is capable of interacting with smartphones to perform a range of functions.
So far only Samsung’s work on a smartwatch is anywhere close to official but, since all three companies are competing in the same tech space, seeing them eventually competing in an emerging technology shouldn’t be that unexpected.
