You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

Thanks to Europe, we’re still reaping the benefits of Apple’s bent knee, which saw USB-C introduced to iPhones everywhere. Not even Nintendo can avoid the EU’s newest regulations, which come into effect in mid-February 2027. Soon, Switch 2 consoles will be kitted out with ‘user-replaceable’ batteries. As it stands, Nintendo’s hardware has its batteries glued inside the case, with no safe way to swap ’em out. We’ll never say no to more consumer protection. But the way Nintendo is complying isn’t the greatest, either. For one thing, not all countries will get the new models. If the company can get…

It’s a pretty rough time to be Microsoft. It’s an even worse time to be employed at the company — or worse yet, Xbox. On Monday, the company announced plans to cull 4,800 employees — or approximately 2.1% of its global workforce — with 3,200 being Xbox workers. Of those, 1,600 are basically gone. ‘Rough’ is an understatement. As it turns out, throwing billions of dollars at the gaming division and holding thumbs isn’t enough to make it competitive. You have to actually make good games, and not stuff AI into every nook and cranny of the products. That deep…

The Sonos name is justly famous. For years, it has ruled the consumer audio market, delivering high-end audio experiences for similarly high-end prices. Many of these have already enriched the ears of the Stuff team. The Sonos Era 100 SL is the latest speaker from the company to treat our ears, bearing a price that didn’t make us want to throw ourselves out the window. R5,000 is the number you’re looking for. By no means are we calling the Era 100 SL cheap. But for what you’re getting, we think Sonos has actually been rather generous. Like the regular Era 100…

Physical games aren’t entirely dead at PlayStation Sony, in its infinite wisdom, wants to pull the plaster off fast. Instead of dishing out all of its anti-consumer decisions over, say, the next couple of years, it’s jammed them all into a week. You’ve almost definitely heard that PlayStation will cease physical game disc releases by 2028. You may, however, have missed the news that another PlayStation Plus price hike is on the cards. What about when Sony deleted movies customers had paid for? All in all, it’s been a rough week for PlayStation gamers. But there is one speck of…

WhatsApp has been available on the Apple iPad for some time now, but its abilities have always been limited. It didn’t have access to broadcast lists, for one thing. Users can’t share live location either, regardless of whether the tablet’s SIM slot is filled or not. The worst bit, though? It can’t serve as your primary device, no matter what. It’s about time That’s going to change, and soon. For some of you, it already has. WhatsApp has pushed out an update to iPad users (version 26.25.74) that’ll bring it up to scratch with mobile devices, rather than simply being an…

Apple TV, once again, has proven why that R125/m subscription hasn’t gone to waste. Widow’s Bay is just the latest excuse to spend a weekend binging some damn good television. We’re a little late to the Widow’s Bay party, which launched at the end of April. That turned out to be a blessing in disguise for us, and presumably, you. Widow’s Bay is a small-town mystery done right. Series creator Katie Dippold certainly knows how to keep viewers coming back for more of the horror-comedy drama, and we can’t imagine how excruciating the week-long wait for episodes must’ve been. Heck, the series only recently just…

It’s no secret that Apple is toiling away on a foldable iPhone to rival every other foldable smartphone manufacturer. Earlier rumours indicate that the so-called iPhone Ultra is set to launch later this year. A new report from Nikkei Asia (via 9to5Mac) all but confirms it, claiming Apple has now ordered 10 million units. We’ve also got a rough idea of how the iPhone Ultra will look. Back in June, dummy units of the Fruit Company’s rather stumpy-looking foldable surfaced online — courtesy of Sonny Dickson on X. The caveat being the choice of colours. Apparently, the phone will only launch in…

Forty years later, people are still buying Fuji’s QuickSnap disposable cameras at nearly R400 a pop. And we mean a pop. Once you’ve finished the roll, that’s it; you’re done. It makes sense that Fujifilm would want to capitalise on Gen Z’s nostalgia for a time they never quite experienced by bringing back the ol’ faithful QuickSnap. Chuck ’em in the bin Technically, the company has announced two new models of the little disposable. There’s the QuickSnap Black and White and the QuickSnap Active, which replaces the current waterproof QuickSnapper. Both of ’em are exactly what you’d expect from a disposable…

Later this month, Samsung will take its first big swing into the smart glasses market with the Galaxy Glasses — rivalling Meta’s very successful Ray-Ban and Oakley lines. We don’t actually know this yet. Samsung has barely even confirmed the glasses’ existence, much less the fact that they’ll be unveiled as soon as this month. Classic Samsung… That was until SammyGuru managed to get their hands on the yet-to-be-released Samsung Galaxy Glasses Manager app, which is where you’ll — you guessed it — manage your Samsung Galaxy Glasses. Inside the app, we got our first proper look at the glasses themselves. We also…
