The universe is filled with mysteries we’ll probably never answer. For example, what actually caused The Big Bang that brought life into existence? What was the real use for Stonehenge? How does The Simpsons keep on going despite its diminished quality? Yet the question that puzzles and yet amuses in equal volumes is: “Why do cats adore cardboard boxes so?” While Samsung may not be able to answer that question, they’re certainly going to do their part in helping cats have a spot of fun, especially if their owners have just recently bought a new TV.
If you decide to go all in on a new Samsung TV, you’ll be grabbing a two for one deal as both you and your beloved cat will be entertained for hours. You’ll have a snazzy new TV and you can build your cat a cute little cardboard home from the used box. Yay for planned recycling!
Samsung announced that its Lifestyle TVs will now come boxed in “eco-packaging” in an effort to reduce the company’s environmental footprint. The three Lifestyle TVs in question include The Serif, The Frame and The Sero. Thing is, while those TVs are neat, that’s not what we’re here to talk about. We’re here to talk about cat houses — because why wouldn’t we?
The TV’s packaging, which comes in fairly standard corrugated cardboard, can be re-purposed after the device has been unboxed. Thanks to a dot-matrix design, you’ll easily fold and cut them into some handy pieces of furniture, including a bin for books and a house for your cat: which is obviously the most important one. They even come with an instruction guide so you don’t have to spend hours messing around with fiddly panels and sticky fingers.
Once your TV is set up and your cat has a handy new house, the only thing left to worry about is whether not they’ll rip it apart. You never know what those cute little buggers are planning…
