Vivo already has another smartphone on the way. That’d be the Vivo V80 Lite, the bulk of which is occupied by a gargantuan 10,000mAh battery. It’s got other talents too, we’re sure, but Vivo isn’t spilling the beans on those just yet.
All about Vivo
That’ll come as soon as 3 September, when the company launches the phone in Malaysia. Vivo was kind enough to tease the new battery in a Facebook post in the meantime. While the 10,000mAh battery will certainly be the star of the show — especially if it reaches South Africa — we’ve got a rough idea of what else the V80 Lite is hiding.
The post also gave us a look at the new device, albeit a small one. For instance, it’s got a new square housing unit for the cameras — a change from the pill-shaped island we saw last time. Then there’s the camera module itself, with the image confirming at least one 50MP shooter, likely accompanied by two others.

The rest, it seems, is still up in the air. Leaks have given us the general outline — like the fact that it’ll feature a 6.83in OLED display with 1.5K resolution. That’s not much of a revelation. The Vivo V70 FE featured the same, so we wouldn’t be surprised if it turned up here. We’re guessing that the Dimensity 7500 SoC (or up) is inside.
How that’ll relate to pricing in South Africa is anyone’s guess. The V70 Lite skipped a launch in South Africa, despite the rest of the V70 family (and the V60 Lite) being sold locally. We don’t see Vivo missing out on this one, what with a 10,000mAh battery to parade around.
