If you’re going to buy a robot lawnmower, it might as well look cool. The Goko M6 certainly fits that bill, featuring stylish tyres and a body shape reminiscent of the Cybertruck. You know, the EV that some Americans love (or love to hate)? Occasionally, the military shoots at them (on purpose).
Hopefully nobody will drop missiles on Goko’s robo-mower, though. That would leave some very large divots in your perfectly-maintained lawn. The company behind it, Robot++, has made allowances for holes that size, at least. Assuming an AGM-65 Maverick hasn’t pulverised it.
Damn you, Goko!
The M6 uses AI, because you have to say that in 2026, but it’s also a four-wheel-drive lawnmower. According to its creators, the gadget is made for “expansive, challenging landscapes and rugged terrain.” Sounds a lot like South Africa to us.
The Goko M6 uses front-wheel steering, a switchable blade system, and handles slopes up to 42°. The blade options let it chew through thick foliage or lightly manicure the lawn, depending on what you need. Onboard cameras (plus AI) enable obstacle avoidance. Users can also map up to fifteen acres of workspace via “VSLAM, RTK, IMU, and odometry.”
The robo-mower isn’t a performance slouch, either. Goko says it’ll run for 360 minutes (six hours) on a charge, handling two acres of lawn a day. Assuming you’ve got a decent-sized South African home, it’ll finish the day with plenty of battery capacity left. If you’re on a smallholding, the Goko M6 could be your new best friend.
When it eventually launches, that is. The M6 will enter a Kickstarter campaign later this month, after which it’ll ship to buyers. It seems it’s another of those ‘we’re going to use Kickstarter as a pre-order system‘ efforts that Chinese companies love. Pricing will, presumably, turn up then. It’s not going to be cheap, however…
