Huawei is set to announce its next global product launch at an event in May, according to a teaser the company posted on X. The tagline for the event is ‘Now is your spark,’ which could mean almost anything on its own. But given that the AI-generated teaser video (embedded below) involves cute pandas, elephants, wristwear, and tablets, we’ve got a fair idea of what to expect.
For everything else, there’s industry rumour to fall back on. The folks over at Notebookcheck reckon that the Chinese brand has six or more devices in the offing. Based on the brief teaser, at least two of those will be Huawei’s Watch Fit 5 and 5 Pro.
Huawei allowed to guess?

Or perhaps not, since the company’s wearable devices launched this month following a leak earlier in April. Perhaps there are new features (or new variants) in the Watch Fit 5 lineup coming, alongside what is expected to be Huawei’s new Nova 15 Max.
The tablet seen in the (explicitly) AI-generated teaser video is thought to be the MatePad Pro Max. Also rumoured are a new premium smartwatch, the Watch Kids X1 range of wearables, and possibly another version of the recently-launched Watch GT Runner 2. Some of the company’s recent China-only crop might also make an appearance.
It’s also worth speculating on whether the brand has some sort of generative video tech to announce, given that it has opted to use an AI-created video for its announcement. Time will tell.
Huawei’s event is set for 7 May, but with no specific time for kickoff given yet. Likely, we’ll hear about the exact timing sometime this week.
