It took quite a road to get here but the August-September 2021 issue of Stuff Magazine has finally arrived. Whether you’re picking the magazine up in print or digital format, you’re in for a packed issue. We’ve got a closer look at the first Honor smartphone with Google Mobile Services installed, a set of sneakers made out of Lego (assuming you buy two sets), a new Game and Watch from Nintendo and a new set of Beats — and that’s just in the first few pages of this brand new issue.
Also contained within the pages of the August-September 2021 Stuff issue is a lovely long look at Sony’s new WF-1000XM4 in-ear buds, the finest all-rounder we’ve seen in South Africa since Jacques Kallis strode onto the cricket pitch against Pakistan back in 1997. You won’t be throwing these about or bonking them with a wooden bat but you will be sticking them in your ears and marvelling at just how fresh that music you thought you knew all too well sounds now.
Of course, audio takes more than one form and in this issue of the magazine we’ve got a set of five cheaper Bluetooth audio wonders, all at around R5,000 or below. Some are just bare-bones bricks at a bare-bones price, while others contain a stellar sonic soundscape in a surprisingly small… s-package? No matter where you come in on the audio spectrum, there’s something for your budget (and your discerning ear).
Sticking with the audio theme (but throwing in a few spectacular visuals as well), check out our review of Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart in the now-on-sale magazine. This cheerful platformer makes the absolute most of the Sony PlayStation 5’s hardware for an encounter that has to be experienced to be believed. High-end graphics, sound to match and tightly-controlled platform gameplay with the series’ wackiest weapons to date await you. Find out why it’s our new #1 video game today.
There is, as always, more to see in the August-September 2021 issue of Stuff Magazine. Peruse our cover feature covering the 100 apps you need to have installed on your phone or tablet today.
