They grow up so fast. It seems like only 126 days ago, we covered the Honor Pad 10 Pro — a China-only tablet that titillated the senses. Now, the company has already announced a successor in the form of the Honor Pad 20, sans Pro. It’s expected to be a mid-ranger, but with no official pricing confirmed, there’s no telling yet.
Honor’s latest Pad
We do, however, have a (very plain) list of specs that turns our wild stab into an educated guess. The first clue is the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 SoC inside, now roughly two-and-a-half years old. It’s not bad, per se, but it doesn’t put us in mind of high-end tablets. It’s bolstered by 8GB of RAM, and a choice of 128/256GB storage flavours.
Then there’s the 12.1in IPS LCD (16:10), which the company’s Chinese site (via Notebookcheck) claims is a 3K panel. Whether it’ll be up to par with a 120Hz refresh rate is still unknown, as is its brightness. Assume that you’ll struggle to sit out in a field with Netflix at your feet, and you won’t be disappointed, though.

Two 8MP cameras sit on either side of the tablet, though how much you’ll get out of that depends entirely on you. The 10,100mAh battery is a fine, fine spec, but not one that we haven’t seen before in the tablet market. That 45W wired charging is a nice touch, though. More surprising is the tablet’s six-speaker set-up.
Again, no official pricing has been announced, nor has a proper release date. The tablet has already appeared on the company’s Chinese and Bangladeshi websites, with a brief ‘coming soon’ and a sparse spec sheet we mentioned earlier. That could mean a release is right around the corner in those markets. As for when South Africa will get a turn to play, we aren’t sure. The Pad 10 Pro can still be picked up for a little over R9,000.
