Not to be outdone by its South Korean rival, Samsung has also announced a new lineup of micro RGB TV sets that will be showcased at CES 2026, just a few short weeks away. Technically, LG is following in Samsung’s footsteps here, as the brand first introduced its version of the tech to the market this year. However, it’ll be interesting to see which brand has the best rendition of micro RGB in 2026.
There are more sizes planned for Samsung’s lineup, according to the company. The new screen type will begin at 55in, making stops at 65in, 75in, 85in, 100in, and 115in on its path to decimate your bank account.
More micro RGB for everybody
Unlike LG, Samsung hasn’t chosen to dive into deeper detail about its TV sets ahead of the 6 to 9 January tech conference in Lost Wages Las Vegas. Instead, the tech maker has chosen to talk up the tech that appears in its newest TVs in more general terms. A slightly upgraded version of the tech in this year’s 115in monster will dominate Samsung’s lineup when it “delivers vivid color and clarity that make movies, sports and TV shows feel more expressive and engaging.”
Those are the words of Hun Lee, executive vice president of Samsung’s Visual Display arm. The microRGB tech, including Samsung’s AI Engine Pro and Precision Color 100 features, is being upgraded. As with LG, AI integration will be a large part of the TV lineup (for some reason). Samsung reckons its Vision AI Companion “enables conversational search, interactive Q&A, proactive recommendations and access to AI features and apps such as Live Translate, Generative Wallpaper and Perplexity.”
The AI tweaks should pale in comparison to the micro RGB portion of these unnamed TVs, however. Improved colour accuracy, at a similarly pumped-up price, is the major feature viewers can look forward to in the new year.
