Samsung typically makes a big deal of many of its product launches. The official reveal of the Galaxy Tab S10 FE (which stands for ‘Fan Edition’, if you’re new here) doesn’t merit quite as much fanfare. But it’s still official, following extensive leaks earlier this year.
One of the headline features for the new semi-affordable Android tablets is the inclusion of “intelligent experiences”, Samsung’s way of saying that some Galaxy AI bits have crept in despite the hardware down-step. This is further enhanced if buyers stick on one of the company’s new Book Cover Keyboard peripherals, since that incorporates a “Galaxy AI Key”.

Features like Google’s Circle to Search, Samsung’s new Best Face (which searches multiple images for the best facial expressions), Solve Math (guess what that does), Object Eraser (it does the opposite of adding stuff to your pics), and Auto Trim (an automatic video reel creator) are included in the new Tab S10 FE lineup. There are two tablets inbound — the base model and then the Galaxy Tab S10 FE Plus.
Both share most features — Exynos 1580 processors, 8GB/128GB or 12GB/256GB configurations, a 12MP front and 13MP rear camera, and identical connectivity and waterproofing ratings — IP68, naturally. The differences come in on the screen and battery front. Because, well, the Tab S10 FE Plus has more space to stick those. The ‘basic’ model has a 10.9in 90Hz display and an 8,000mAh battery. The Plus plumps for a 13.1in screen and a 10,090mAh battery, but both models share screen performance details. Since this is an FE model, that refresh rate only goes up to 90Hz.
Despite the official announcement, there’s no local pricing for the range in South Africa. Yet. Don’t go into it expecting too much of a bargain, though. The previous lineup starts locally at R13,000 for the Tab S9 FE and climbs to R17,000 for the Tab S9 FE Plus 5G. “Select markets” have begun receiving Samsung’s hardware as of today — SA probably isn’t too far behind.
