Samsung isn’t mucking about this year, with another FE-branded folding smartphone heading to market at an indeterminate point. Renders of this phone, a Galaxy Flip 7 FE, have turned up via noted leaker OnLeaks. As with his images of the Galaxy Flip 7 earlier this month, the Flip 7 FE looks to be packing a little more screen than usual.
Do a kick Flip 7 FE
By this, we mean it looks like Samsung is using a similar chassis to the one it will use for the fuller-featured Flip 7 when it launches later this year. The major change? An enlarged secondary display, covering most of one of the outer surfaces. The other remains a metal panel, because who needs three screens on one phone? Well, us… but probably not until 2027.
The ‘budget’ folding smartphone should sport a 6.7in inner display and a 3.4-inch outer screen. Just as a reminder, once upon a time, 3.4in was considered enough for a main screen. The Flip 7 is thought to feature a 6.8in inner display and a 3.6in outer. There’s also some talk on what Samsung will do inside the Flip 7 FE.

Samsung’s unannounced new FE could come packing an Exynos 2400e processor, a scaled-back version of the Exynos 2400. We’ve got some suspicions on how Samsung has produced these chips — it may be that the company’s recent silicon harvest was stunted and these were repurposed — but the 7 FE is unlikely to use Snapdragon either way. That would keep the handset out of the ‘budget’ (for foldables, anyway) category.
Armor Aluminium is expected to be present in the frame, as seen in the Galaxy Flip 6, and there’s also speculation that the older phone’s camera will also make the jump to this as-yet unannounced smartphone.
