Do you have any plans for this Friday, 29 November at midnight? Now you do. FNB is diving headfirst into the Black Friday spirit, announcing a slew of deals designed to help its customers stretch their salaries as far as possible. One of those is a PS5 Slim, only going for the low price of R6,700 – some strings attached.
Those join some other superb deals—like a Samsung 65-inch QLED TV, again, for only R6,700. The catch? FNB Connect is only selling off 186 of each product in this category to celebrate the bank’s 186th birthday, meaning it’s fastest-finger first if you’re serious about nabbing one of the sales available.
Now this is Black Friday
“Black Friday and Summer spend season mark the official start of holiday shopping in South Africa. During this time, many consumers, including our own customers turn to loyalty rewards programmes to help stretch their budgets. While factors like interest rate cuts and lower inflation are creating a more positive outlook for this year’s Black Friday and festive season, we’re confident our customers will find our offers highly beneficial,” said Pieter Woodhatch, CEO of eBucks.
All FNB customers – including RMB Private Bank and Commercial clients, can use their virtual cards and stored-up eBucks to purchase items through the Black Friday and Festive Summer deals. As is now tradition, FNB has continued to offer deals on flights and car rentals, with better accounts stacking their discounts.
Head over to the FNB Connect store to get your hands on FNB’s less-spectacular long-standing deals, which opened on 11 November and closes on 4 December, to grab some of the store’s more popular products. These are paid over a pre-determined period, ranging from two to three years. Purchases also unlock an additional 500GB of data per month for the next six months.

We shouldn’t need to tell you that paying R20,160 for a PS5 Slim which usually costs between R11,000-R12,000 and a controller worth R1,700 is a bad idea. By the end of the two- or three-year period, you’ll have paid far more than what the item was initially worth. But if you’re looking to really save some cash, pay attention to the below deals, going live at midnight on 29 November:
- PlayStation 5 Slim (Digital) – R186/m x 36 (R6,696)
- Apple 10.9-Inch iPad Wi-Fi 64GB – R186/m x 24 (R4,464)

Remember: only 186 items of each deal are available on a first-come first-serve basis. FNB also notes that deals are “subject to change.” To try your hand at grabbing these deals, customers must log onto the FNB app, and select the Black Friday Birthday deals icon on the home page, after which you will be placed in a waiting room.
“The Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and Festive Summer deals are a great opportunity for customers to save big on popular items. One of the key benefits of banking with FNB is getting exclusive access to the FNB Connect Shop and eBucks shop. We encourage our customers to visit our digital platforms for more information on these incredible deals,” says Sashin Sookroo, CEO of FNB Connect.
