If you bought one of Gizzu‘s 300Wh or 500Wh power stations after 1 November 2022, there’s a chance that your device is subject to a voluntary recall.
South African distributor Syntech made the announcement, explaining that it has received reports that some devices — specifically the GPS300 and GPS500 Power Stations — are at risk for overheating while charging.

Following reports over the last few days, the company said, Syntech immediately contacted its global manufacturing partner, who initiated an investigation, which confirmed a temporary battery manufacturing flaw may have affected a small number of units in one particular batch of these models, produced between 1 November and 31 December 2022.”
Sales of the affected Gizzu devices have been halted at retail but some of them might have gotten out into the world. If that’s the case, you might have one in your home.
It’s important to note that only some devices are affected or a risk. Syntech has a website up where you can check the serial number on your Gizzu device. If your Power Station is part of the recall, a form will open up where you will be instructed on your next steps. Any other questions? Contact Syntech at 011 053 1901 or support@gizzu.co.za.
