Huawei South Africa sent Stuff‘s editor-in-chief Toby Shapshak one of its newly announced flagship devices, the Mate50 Pro. The previous device in the Chinese firm’s Mate series launched in the twilight months of 2020 and while the Mate 50 Pro launched in China last year, its local rollout is nevertheless an exciting event for fans of the brand.
The Mate 50 Pro’s standout feature has to be the revamped camera system featuring what Huawei calls the Ultra Aperture XMAGE Camera. That’s housed in a symmetrical Space Ring design and wrapped in the company’s orange Vegan Leather. It’s all rather spiffy.
