MultiChoice launches DStv uncapped fibre products… Hello unrestricted streaming

DStv MultiChoice

MultiChoice has decided to put its network provider cap on and has launched DStv uncapped fibre products bundled with its current DStv streaming products. We hear you MultiChoice, you want to sit at the streamers’ table

There’s a new ISP in town

It seems to have got the timing right as well. You never know if you’ll have the electricity to watch your favourite shows on good-old television in SA. But if you have a laptop with a working battery and get yourself a UPS to keep the router on, streaming is still a possibility.

MultiChoice’s two new fibre products accommodate both Compact and Premium subscribers.

What’s the catch? To get these ‘reasonably priced’ uncapped fibre products together with DStv, you’ll have to agree to a 24-month contract.

Here’s what is on offer:

Compact at R700/m

The 25Mbit/s uncapped fibre bundle (25Mbit/s down, 10Mbit/s up) will cost R700/m. This comes with the newly launched DStv Streama TV box (worth R1,300) and a DStv Compact subscription if you have your own decoder. If you’re supplying the decoder, you’ll also get access to DStv via satellite at no extra cost.

Premium at R1,000/m

For those with a little extra cash to spend, there’s the premium bundle. For R1,000/m you get the same 25Mbit/s uncapped fibre, a new DStv Streama box and a DStv Premium subscription. Similar to the compact offer, if you have a decoder you’ll get DStv via satellite for the same price.

If by some miracle you’re still on ADSL and haven’t already been convinced by one of the other local ISPs to switch to fibre, then this deal is for you. If you’re still watching DStv that is.

We just hope that MultiChoice is keeping everything above board with the whole ‘uncapped fibre’ deal. It would be a shame to find out that your 25Mbit/s uncapped fibre is subject to a Fair Use Policy.
