Apple’s iPhone 14 lineup will apparently drop on 13 September, shipments from 23 September

iPhone 14 Concept

Rumours about the iPhone 14 started not too long after the iPhone 13 launched. Some interesting details, like increased RAM and a possible hole-punch display, are suggested. Now there’s something new — the possible date of the iPhone 14 lineup launch.

Specifically? Apple’s newest smartphones are supposedly showing up on 13 September this year. Pre-orders are expected to start on 16 September, while international sales will start on 23 September.

At least, that’s the word behind an Apple leaker on Twitter, iHacktu. The anonymous user claims that 13 September is the big day. Given their track record, that could be the case. But it’s just as possible to be accurate with an educated guess.

Apple announced the iPhone 13 on 14 September last year. The iPhone 12 turned up on 13 October, but 2020 was a weird year for basically everyone. The iPhone 11 rocked up on 9 September 2019. Early September (but not too early) is a pretty decent guess. After that, the company’s fairly predictable. Pre-orders on the Friday, on-sale on the following Friday… Apple tends to work in patterns.

Even so, this isn’t an official launch date. The iPhone 14 might be announced at another date entirely… but if we were going to put money on it, we’d bet on iHacktu. Even if it is just a guess. When the lineup is announced, you can expect four of them. The iPhone 14 and 14 Max, as well as the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. It looks like we won’t get a Mini, at least in name. Expect a tweaked camera, an improved processor, and the upgrades and changes mentioned above. The gulf between the standard models and the Max handsets is also supposed to be larger.
