Showmax, the Multichoice-owned local streaming service, has announced its Black Friday special offer, and it’ll bag you two months access to the service, for the price of one month.
This special offer will run from 25 November, until 9 December 2021 as part of the global Black Friday phenomenon. It’ll include all of the service’s streaming packages, including the base option, Mobile, Pro and Pro Mobile.
The base option goes for just R100p/m currently, which means you’ll get two months’ value out of 100 bucks. On the lower end, Showmax Mobile costs just R40p/m, while Showmax Pro costs a whopping R450p/m.

Whether Showmax Pro is worth the chunky deposit every month is entirely up to the user — this option includes a variety of sports channels and on-demand content curated by SuperSport. So if you’re dropping DStv for streaming-only offerings, this will be the one to look out for.
This special offer may also be the perfect time to test out Showmax Pro and see if it quenches your need for sports content. At R450 over two months, it doesn’t seem like a terrible deal initially.
Showmax has been pushing its local content offering in recent months, dropping a range of locally produced shows and movies on its service recently. This includes a few, including Tali’s Baby Diary, DAM, Skemerdans, a new season of Life with Kelly Khumalo and arguably one of the best locally-made crime documentaries Devilsdorp.
