WhatsApp is all about its updates lately, offering improvements to its disappearing messages and its desktop app. But there’s something new in the works — a review tool for that love-it-or-hate-it feature, voice messages.
The service, according to WABetaInfo, is calling its new feature Review Voice Messages because… well, you use it to review your voice messages prior to sending them off.
WhatsApp with this voice thing, anyway?
Don’t get too excited, yet. You won’t be checking your audio quality prior to sending off your elegantly crafted mini-podcasts to your adoring fans in that one WhatsApp group just yet. The feature is still in testing for both Android and iOS, with a release slated for a future release of the app.
It’s remarkably simple to use, obviously. Once you’ve recorded your vocal missive, you’ll be able to review it (as seen in the example video above). If you’re happy with your note, you can send it on its merry way. If the dog barked at just the right spot to ruin that a capella rendition of Eminem’s Rap God, then you’ll be permitted to go back and re-record it instead of submitting inferior audio to your public.
But, like we said, there’s no timeline for its release at this point. As soon as it turns up, we’ll let you know.
