In a recent announcement, Multichoice revealed that it will open all SuperSport channels for all DStv customers for one weekend. If you’re not a DStv Premium subscriber, you’ll be able to access some premium ball-kicking, face punching and field sprinting content regardless. As long as you have an account with the broadcaster.
Anyone who’s subscribed to DStv Compact Plus, Compact, Family, and Access packages will be able to watch their favourite tournaments and leagues via all the SuperSport channels from 13 March (Saturday) to 14 March (Sunday).
Of course, there’s a catch, though. The channels will only be accessible through the DStv app, available on smart TVs, tablets and smartphones. You won’t suddenly see SuperSport channels pop up on your decoder, so hold off flipping through all the channels looking for them. It won’t work. The reasoning behind this stunt? There’s a whole lot of sporting happening next weekend, and Multichoice is feeling particularly forgiving. The major events expected include boxing, soccer, and cricket.
All you have to do (if you’re a DStv customer in some form) is download the DStv app from any of the digital app stores available and sign in with your DStv account. You won’t see any additional content if it’s not sport-related, so don’t get too excited.
Some of the sport you’ll see
- PSL
- LaLiga
- Premier League
- Serie A
- Super League T20
- US PGA Tour
- Six Nations
- WWE SmackDown
- UFC Fight Night
- ATP World Tour
