Just when you thought we’d managed to finally have Black Friday in the rear-view mirror, OneDayOnly swoops in to continue the trend. Which is actually not a terrible thing given how badly their site reacted to all those people wanting in on some fantastic deals last Friday. To make it up to all those disappointed consumers, OneDayOnly is hosting a second Black Friday tomorrow, 4 December 2020. So if you missed out last week, better keep an eye on that app…
OneDayOnly confirmed that Black Friday 2 is happening because of all the people that were unfortunately left high and dry by the site’s servers crashing under the excessive load of people trying to grab a deal. Many orders were unable to be fulfilled, so of course, plenty of folks were upset. Fortunately, the tech nerds over at OneDayOnly has apparently addressed the problem so Black Friday: The Second shouldn’t feature the same issues.
OneDayOnly? More like TwoDaysOnly
Beyond the event tomorrow, OneDayOnly is also offering users 3 500 “surprise and delight” gifts to the value of R2 million. Shoppers will be selected randomly to receive one of the free gits as the program runs from today through to Tuesday, 8 December.
Laurian Venter, director at OneDayOnly said in a press release, “Despite having undertaken the necessary precautions to support the massive increase in traffic we expected last week Friday, our site simply couldn’t keep up. Fortunately, our app was stable throughout most of the day, and we saw tremendous uptake on that platform. We have had such an overwhelmingly positive response to our apology across our social media platforms and as we already negotiated these incredible deals, we thought that we should try again with our one-week-later-but-still-
It’s a nice gesture of goodwill from OneDayOnly and I’m sure the company is more than happy to give customers another reason to peruse their miscellaneous assortment of stock. “We want to fulfil our Black Friday promise to our customers – particularly amidst the current economic climate, so have discounted our products even further this time around,” concluded Venter.
So be sure to check the OneDayOnly site tomorrow or just look for the shop’s app on the Google Play Store of the Apple App Store.
