How do we all feel about the colour green? Oh, good you’re a fan. What’s that? You’re saying that you prefer green colours to emit from certain pieces of pricey technology in a neon haze that no doubt could serve as a brand identity for a company that’s very much leant into that image?
Well, how about that. Have you heard of Razer? They’re exactly the company you’re looking for to cater to your highly specific tastes. I’m amazed you hadn’t heard of them sooner, or at the very least seen them. They’re hard to miss, what with all that RGB lighting which was also on display this weekend during the company’s online event known imaginatively as RazerCon. A whole mess of things was announced and revealed to the public (even though it broke our hearts to see the Razer Credit Card wasn’t present) so let’s take a deeper dive into everything that was announced, shall we?

Razer Iskur Gaming Chair
Arguably the coolest and most unusual (for Razer, at least) was the unveiling of the Razer Iskur gaming chair which will retail at $500. What’s special about this chair? Well, much like nearly every piece of furniture targeted at folks who spent most of the chair staring at a computer, the Razer Iskur offers a new kind of lumbar support. This has been achieved with a “fully adjustable lumbar curve that closely aligns to your spine—ensuring ideal gaming posture for maximum comfort in gaming marathons.” Or just, you know, if you’re working from home and have a lot to do. Probably also good for that.
The Razer Iskur gaming chair is made out of a multi-layered synthetic leather modelled to resemble snake scales and comes fitted with high-density foam cushions that will contour themselves to fit your specific body shape. Sounds pretty comfy if you ask us.
Razer Blade Stealth 13 gaming laptop
If we didn’t know any better and just saw the name of this product, we’d probably have assumed it to some kind of high-tech shaver while it is, in fact, a full-on laptop that’s packing a heap of power! Razer’s labelled this thing as “The World’s First Gaming Ultrabook” which is quite a bold claim until you look at the specs on it and see that it could all be true.
The Razer Blade Stealth is equipped with an 11th-gen Intel Core i7 processor at 28W and a powerful GeForce GTX 1650 Ti and what is supposedly the world’s fastest 13.3” 120Hz Full HD display, it certainly seems like a computer that’s designed to tackle any task you throw at it.
The Razer Blade Stealth 13 will retail for $1,800 for the 120Hz model and $2,000 for the OLED version.
Razer Seiren Mini Microphone
If you’ve ever wanted to invest in a good quality microphone but know that you might not have the desk space to support one (or, you know, the cash to buy it) the Seiren Mini Microphone might do you well. Razer’s new plug-and-play mic supposedly offers excellent audio quality due to an “ultra-precise super-cardioid pickup pattern” that focuses in on the user’s voice and reduces background noise dramatically.
The other major selling point is how small and compact it is, ideal for streamers wanting an uncluttered desk or who might move around a little too frequently. You can pick up the Razer Seiren Mini Microphone for R1,200.
Razer Tomahawk PC gaming cases
What’s the point in having a decent computer if you’re going to dump the parts into a shell that looks like it was recycled from a scrapyard? Razer’s Tomahawk PC cases are the company’s first attempt at the product and sport tempered-glass side panels, RGB lighting and a design that’s meant to simplify cable management dramatically.
You can get the Razer Tomahawk in two sizes based on the sort of set up you’re running: A mid-tower ATX case or the smaller mini-ITX case. The standard-sized one will cost $200 while the mini-ITX will set you back $180.
Razer Kraken BT Kitty edition
Of course, it wouldn’t be a Razer event without a pair of large headphones to round everything off. The seemingly iconic cat-ear design (at least, if you watch Twitch) is going wireless for this iteration with an impressive battery life of 50 hours and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
Of course, the ears do light up and change colour based on different apps and notifications. If you want to grab yourself a pair of these headphones, you’re looking at spending R2,300.
