We wouldn’t make this a ‘Drop everything and Download’ feature just yet. Well, not before most techies become more interested in sport. However, South Africa’s leading sports broadcaster, SuperSport has rolled out a new app packing a bunch of updated features.
The best part? You don’t need a DStv or Multichoice account to access the SuperSport app and have access to some prime sports content and commentary.
The app rolled out last week, and emphasises the importance of design and UI this time around — a good call on the dev’s part here. Local apps have come a long way from completely unusable, lacklustre app design and we’re here for it.
SuperSport Going digital
People using the SuperSport app will now be able to personalise their content by following their favourite teams and tournaments. So if you’re a rugby person, you won’t be plagued by soccer content and vice versa. Users will also now have the ability to log in using other third-party platforms like Facebook, Twitter and Google. So each person’s account will be linked to a personalised profile and feed.
“We’ve invested a lot of time, energy and resources into making this an app that reflects SuperSport’s quest for supreme sports coverage and in-depth insight,” says Gideon Khobane, SuperSport’s chief executive in a press release.
Because we don’t live in the era of broadcast sports anymore, SuperSport has implemented more live-commentary options that feature regular updates as well as score updates. The app is available to download from the iOS App Store, the Google Play Store for Android and the Huawei AppGallery for Huawei devices.
Again. There’s no need for a DStv account here. Simply download the SuperSport app, create an account and check out all the sport highlights your heart desires.
