Asus has unveiled one of the lightest business laptops around, the ExpertBook B9

This week, Asus announced one of the smallest business laptops we’ve encountered. Called the Asus ExpertBook B9, the newly unveiled notebook weighs around 1kg and sizes in at 14in, and they didn’t skimp on the internals either.

The ExpertBook B9 is powered by an Intel 11th Gen processors (i5 or i7), Intel Iris Xe graphics card, and features Thunderbolt 4. One of the coolest features on this little machine is its AdaptiveLock proximity sensor feature that’ll allow you to log into your device quickly and offers increased security of your personal information. Exactly what you need from a business machine. It’s also fitted with 32GB OF RAM, Intel WiFi 6 and up to two 2TB SSDs with four PCIe ports. It will support RAID 0 and RAID 1 technology, for added security. That’s whack yo.

You know what they say about small bottles…

So that means this tiny little body of a laptop can cater for up to 4TB of SSD storage, with the option to increase it using the other PCIe ports. It’s also got an added AI noise-cancellation feature built into the onboard microphone, which will allow you to voice- and video chat without much interference, although we reckon a headset will still be a better option.

Again, don’t let its small body fool you — this little machine comes loaded with ports. It’s got two Thunderbolt 4 ports, four USB-C ports (up 40 Gbps data transfer and dual 4K display outputs), one USB 3.2port, a micro-HDMI port and an audio jack. Sorted.

The cool thing is, you’ve got a choice between two ExpertBook variants according to battery options. The 33Wh option weights just 880g, while the 66Wh option is a bit heavier at 1.005kg. According to Asus’ press release, these gizmos can both charge up to 60% in 39 minutes while using fast-charging.

Although we don’t have local pricing just yet, Stuff will be getting our hands on a review unit soon. The ExpertBook B9 series will come to SA in the first quarter of 2021 sometime, so we’ll keep you updated on any developments.
