If you’ve been holding off on investing in an Xbox’s Game Pass, now’s the time to sub. Because Microsoft is sweetening the deal for new subscribers, while pushing out some brilliant game additions for the foreseeable future.
If you’re still Pass-less, first-timers can now get three months of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1 (R14.77 at the time of writing). Existing and new Ultimate subs will get some cool perks in other subscription services too, like access to EA Access, three months of Discord Nitro, and six months of Spotify Premium.
This was all announced at X019 this week, and it’s clear that Microsoft’s pushing its services with some A-grade titles on hand. The Xbox Game Pass will give you access to a variety of games through Project xCloud — Miceys version of Google’s Stadia’s cloud streaming platform. But Game Pass users have access to some great titles starting today — like Rage 2 for Xbox and Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition for PC. Check out the full list here.
It announced that it’s adding more than 50 new games from 25 partners to xCloud too. So we’re betting Stadia’s dev teams are shook. With is widespread accessibility and server support, Microsoft may have the upper hand in the cloud-gaming race. Google Stadia hasn’t officially launched yet, but it’ll have to contend with the OG Microsoft. Stadia is set to launch next week, and may have some teething problems to start off with…
xCloud is officially launching early in 2020. We’re not quite sure as to local availability. But what with Microsoft rolling out some Azure server hardware recently — we may actually get xCloud here.
Project xCloud, on the other hand, has a brilliant library of games lined up. For example, you’ll have access to Devil May Cry 5, Madden NFL 20, and even Tekken 7 on xCloud, which is a given if you’re signed up to Game Pass. Let’s get jolling, yo.
