Adobe has rolled out a new version of Photoshop Touch, this one catering specifically for mobile phones rather than confining it to tablets.
Adobe says that the phone version of the editing software contains core Photoshop features, including “layers, advanced selections tools, adjustments and filters.” Other features like Scribble Selection and Camera Fill, as well as filters specific to the tablet edition of Touch, are also part of the scaled-down release.
Photoshop Touch for phones includes access to the Creative Cloud and comes with 2GB of online storage for free as well as autosyncing between devices and a desktop. Usage between a handset and a tablet requires that a seperate version of Touch is purchased for the tablet while converting projects to the desktop requires Adobe CS5.1 or later.
The app is out now for both iOS and Android phones, coming in at $4.99 and R44.12 respectively. Android devices need to be running Android 4.0 or better and the iPhone 4S and higher, as well as the fifth-generation iPod touch, are supported (iOS 6.0 or later).
