Samsung South Africa has confirmed that Samsung’s new NX range of cameras will be available in SA, though a date has not been given for when it will be in stores.
The three new cameras, the NX1000 (pictured), NX210 and NX20 compact system cameras (CSC), all feature built-in WiFi connectivity and cover the spectrum for users from newcomers (NX1000) to professional photographers (NX20).
The three shooters all share the same 20.3 Megapixel APS-C CMOS sensor, developed by Samsung. The NX1000 is the basic model in the lineup, while the NX210 is an evolution of its predecessor, the NX200. The NX20 is the crown jewel of the new product line, being a portable unit that “…gives the look and feel of a DSLR” according to Samsung. A 1/8000s shutter and a range of manual controls and functions further reinforce its targeting of the professional and semi-pro marketplace.
Samsung South Africa’s Matthew Thackrah said “The three new additions to the NX Series mark an evolution in Samsung’s SMART Camera offering, demonstrating our understanding that digital imaging is about sharing the best moments, and not only about taking great pictures. Samsung is paving the way, introducing the world’s first SMART Compact System Cameras for professional images that are worth showing off.”
