Apple might have a video game controller in the works, according to tech website Anandtech.
An Apple-created game controller is little more than a rumour at the moment, one which was sparked off by a comment made by Anandtech’s Anand Lal Shimpi in a review for Apple’s latest iPad.
“I know of an internal Apple project to bring a physical controller to market, but whether or not it will ever see the light of day remains to be seen.”
This isn’t the first time that speculation has arisen regarding Apple providing alternatives to a solely touch-based interface in their devices. Apple, in a 2008 patent filing, was toying with the idea of a controller peripheral which would allow customers to dock their devices in a manner similar to the recently released Circle Pad Pro for Nintendo’s 3DS handheld console.
