According to Times of Israel the northern town of Hoshaya will be installing WiFi access on the donkeys that it uses for Talmudic-era amusement village Kfar Kedem.
Kfar Kedem (which means Village of Yore according to the report) lets visitors experience a re-enactment of First and Second century Judean life and manager Menachem Goldberg has decided to offer WiFi access on the donkeys that form part of the experience. This is reportedly to allow visitors to upload photographs and updates of their trip as it happens.
Goldberg said “Our village has 30 donkeys, and we’ve equipped the first five with wireless routers that are attached to the donkey’s body. In the future we’ll consider equipping all of the donkeys with the necessary apparatuses as necessary.”
Combining high-tech internet access with low-tech transportation may come across as a bit of an anachronism but it may be worth taking the trip to Hoshaya to check out the results for yourself.
