You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

Mobile contracts are a pain. Especially when you’re forced to choose between Vodacom, MTN, Cell C, or Telkom. That’s why MTN, the country’s speediest mobile network operator (overall), is doing away with them. Not entirely of course, but in the case of its new product, SuperFlex, you won’t be getting any carpal tunnel syndrome from signing every page of a contract. What you will get, if you choose to go for one, is unlimited minutes and SMSes and some data to boot. Weird SuperFlex, but okay It helps that the offerings aren’t half bad. SuperFlex automatically includes unlimited minutes and…

Ashamed of your likes on X? No longer If you’re a subscriber to X Premium, previously known as Twitter Blue, the platform has introduced yet another change – giving those users the ability to hide their likes tab from the public. X confirmed the new ‘feature’ through a post on… X. Turning on the feature will make an X Premium user’s like tab disappear completely from the public eye. To do so, head to the Premium tab, hit ‘preferences’ and then ‘early access’. The feature hadn’t yet gone live on Stuff’s X profile – either on desktop or mobile. Be…

Buying with credit is becoming an increasingly popular model in South Africa. So much so, that we’re just kicking our feet up and waiting for the recession to roll in. You can speed up that process using Pick n Pay’s newly adopted credit system dubbed ‘PayJustNow’. It’ll allow customers to purchase “high-ticket” (and non-food) items and pay them back later. You’ll be able to purchase electronics, home appliances, mobile devices and other “high-ticket items” using the service, it said in a statement earlier today (via TechCentral). Pick n Pay also said it would be extending the new model to its…

Apple’s never been the gaming type. Sure, the Apple Pippin might have found its way into some homes, but other than that… no. The big fruit company’s always stuck to what it does best, which rarely includes gaming outside of Clash of Clans on the App Store. One of the big talking points from Apple’s Wonderlust event – aside from the slew of new products – was the iPhone 15 Pro’s gaming abilities, with a wave of AAA titles making their way to the device. But can it run Crysis? Apple only briefly mentioned a few; Assassin’s Creed: Mirage, The Division,…

Intel unveils Thunderbolt 5, with some wacky speeds Intel has announced the next evolution of the Thunderbolt standard, Thunderbolt 5, which promises speeds of up to 120Gbps. For reference, the company’s current-gen Thunderbolt 4 caps out at 40Gbps. If you don’t know what any of that meant: new cable good. Despite the recent announcement showing off Thunderbolt 5’s skills, we won’t be seeing it supported on devices, or accessories until at least 2024. That’s fine. We can wait. Intel’s built TB5 using the USB4 v2 standard, meaning it’ll be backwards compatible with older USB-C standards and previous versions of Thunderbolt.…

Mr D, perhaps the country’s most popular food delivery app is, with help from Pick n Pay, evolving into a “full-on, on-demand marketplace, where you can shop for pet care, groceries, gifting, and more – all in one place.” That’s… a big deal. It’s also a little brave, what with Amazon’s rumoured South African launch just around the corner. “We’re always looking for ways to add value to our customer’s lives”, says Alex Wörz, Chief Executive Officer at Mr D. “Which is why, in addition to doing what we do best — food — we are now bringing convenience as…

MSI’s stealthy 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport A13V MSI has partnered up with Mercedes AMG to produce a customised Stealth 16 Studio A13V laptop. It’s officially dubbed the Stealth 16 Mercedes-AMG Motorsport A13V, and it’s packing a 16in OLED display that’s targeting creatives, though we’re guessing it’ll be a dab hand at gaming too. It is an altered piece of MSI hardware, after all. The customised Stealth 16 has made its way to South Africa, eventually, ending up on Evetech’s store for a whopping R70,000. Is it worth it? With its 13th-Gen Intel Core i9 Processor, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 GPU and…

Remember that Wonderlust event we told you about? No? It doesn’t matter now since the bloody thing is here and it’s already already over. Apple’s kicked off the whole thing with the usual cutesy trailer that’s promoting… something or other. We’re not actually sure. Whatever the case, it’s all just a precursor for the real show – with Apple announcing its first new thing of the night – the Apple Watch Series 9. The Apple Watch Series 9 is a go! Surprised? One of the biggest changes to look forward to here is Apple’s new S9 SiP (System in Package),…

WhatsApp’s playing nice WhatsApp is making friends with other messenger apps, according to the app’s latest beta version (and WABetaInfo). Tucked away in the latest WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.19.8, the messenger is opening itself up to other forms of communication, such as being able to receive messages from iMessage or Telegram senders and vice-versa. This isn’t some kind-hearted gesture from Meta. This has to do with the recent obligations set out by the new EU Digital Markets Act, with the European Commission setting a deadline – saying that the company needs to comply and open itself up to third-party…
