You'll often catch me dreaming of a Wind Waker remaster. Or sleeping. One of the two.

Picking up a Garmin wearable is no small feat. Not just because each is designed to tackle vastly different sports and exercises, but because their prices can reach as high as R30,000+ if you like to keep on top of things. So the news that a specific bug has plagued users for months now, crashing their wearables at the most inopportune moments can’t be easy to hear. It won’t make it any easier once we tell you the bug has even spread to the Fenix 8. Time to play the waiting game And no, Garmin has not yet put out…

So, you’re looking to run Baldur’s Gate 3, Spider-Man 2, CoD: MW3, and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on one PS5? Um, ackshually, no you’re not. Unless those are your only games, not even accounting for all the footage tucked away in your media gallery. Give it a couple of years, and gamers will be forced to pick up some third-party storage solution to make up for the abysmal performance of the custom 825GB SSD in the PS5. We recently had the opportunity to whack in Western Digital’s officially licensed SN850P NVMe SSD (1TB) (though WD also sells 2,4, and 8TB…

It’s about time somebody put artificial intelligence (AI) to good use. For once, Google has commandeered everyone’s favourite buzzword for something fun: chess. This isn’t just a regular game across the 64 squares (well, it is); this is GenChess. The rules haven’t changed (Chess 2, when?) – but the pieces sure have. Rather than sticking with the tried-and-true pieces that have dominated the game for centuries, GenChess concocts entirely new pieces for every game. You’ll help it along by providing a short description of the white piece’s theme (classic or creative) and Google, or more specifically, the Imagen 3 AI model,…

Black Friday is here, and Nintendo has entered the fray. And for once, it’s managed to shave the prices down by a considerable amount*. It makes sense. This is Nintendo’s last chance to clear out the shelves before pulling the rug out from beneath unsuspecting families with the announcement of the Switch 2. For most, a successor console looming over Black Friday would be a severe handicap. But Nintendo confirmed the Switch 2 (or whatever it ends up called) will be backward compatible. That should keep the Switch’s games from going stale ahead of the announcement. Hardware is a little…

Microsoft Recall returns… kinda Few features have reached the level of infamy that Microsoft’s AI-powered Recall feature has. Hardly anybody was surprised when Microsoft took the opportunity to send Recall back to the drawing board just days ahead of release, nor when it was delayed again at the beginning of November. Microsoft is finally ready to face the music and officially dropped a preview of the feature for a very select few users last week. Only those folks rockin’ a Snapdragon-powered Copilot+ PC and who are also enrolled in the Windows Insider program can get ahold of Recall, as well as…

After a slight delay, WhatsApp finally looks ready to roll out the much-sought-after voice note transcription feature to everyone. The feature was initially only available to beta users, but from today onwards, everyone can get in on the transcription action.
