Artemis 1 launch rescheduled for November NASA’s Artemis 1 rocket stack, consisting of the Space Launch System rocket (SLS) and the Orion space capsule, has survived Hurricane Ian but missed the most recent launch window. The big brains at NASA decided it would be better not to risk the multibillion-dollar rocket standing on the launch pad and wheeled it back to the Kennedy Space Center’s Vehicle Assembly Building. Doing so meant forfeiting the third backup launch date of 2 October. Hurricane Ian had weakened to a tropical storm by the time it reached the Artemis stack. Still, NASA said “there…

Google recently announced a new set of tools for its data scraping machine search engine to provide you with everything you need so you never have to leave its platform. The new tools are also meant to give you more accurate search results for your shopping queries, but that’s probably just a happy coincidence. Your one-stop Google shop The first thing to change is the shopping tab. Say your goodbyes now because Google is doing away with that and instead will include shopping results in the main search bar. Start your search with “shop” followed by what you’re looking for…

And who can blame him? At 91 years old, we’d be “looking into winding down this particular character” as well. That doesn’t mean Darth Vader is going with him. Nor does it mean, Disney will try to quietly recast the iconic villain and hope no one notices. Instead of casting some would-be Jones impersonator, Disney has turned to the power of AI.…

Logitech has announced a cloud-based gaming device to rival the Nintendo Switch and Steam Deck – introducing the Logitech G Cloud. That’s one way to do it While the Switch and Steam Deck handle real-time rendering internally, the Logitech G Cloud leaves that up to the cloud servers. It’s running an eight-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G processor. That’s the same mid-range chip in Samsung’s Galaxy A52 and A72 smartphones from last year. That chip might provide adequate power to run games locally on those devices, but those are Android games and that definitely isn’t the focus of the Logitech G Cloud.…
Asus has launched several laptops this year. Between the gaming powerhouse Strix Scar 17 SE, the new and foldy Zenbook 17 Fold, and other machines aimed at business types or creatives, there’s something on offer in nearly every market segment. But with the ROG Flow X16, the lines are blurred. We’re not saying that’s a bad thing. In fact, we really enjoyed most of it. And that’s not to say the things we didn’t like are necessarily bad. But we were left with a few questions. We’re sure you have some too. Is this the new display king? The ROG…

We hope you weren’t holding out hope, or your breath, for SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet service to launch in South Africa. The service’s webpage has updated the estimated timeline for a rollout in South Africa. We’ve been moved from the ‘waitlist’ to the ‘coming soon’ list. A watchful watcher We’re always keeping an eye on internet things. The Starlink coverage map is no exception. We’re aware of a dedicated Starlink coverage specialist whose only job is to refresh the page and tell folks when something changes. Well, that person realised yesterday, 14 September 2022, that the service changed from indicating…
