Even Realities makes several sets of smart glasses, with the Even G2 being its most consumer-facing pair. They’re also about to get a lot more nerdy. The company has announced a new Terminal Mode for its display glasses, which lets users “interact with AI coding agents directly from your glasses.”
The feature allows wearers to monitor their AI agents remotely via the glasses. Given how frequently news emerges of AI agents going rogue and deleting things, at least you’ll know about it in real time (or slightly slower).

It may even be possible to halt an unauthorised and potentially hairy operation, with the Even G2’s smart ring. Voice commands through the glasses’ microphones could also save your database or other projects. Jokes aside, the feature also makes for a handy way to control an AI agent without pulling out a device and directly interacting with it.
It’s a pricey setup, though. If you’re looking to put Even Realities’ glasses on your face, along with a set of single-vision lenses, plus the G1 smart ring, you’ll wind up paying at least R16,800 (R1,007) before shipping and taxes. If you’re making enough dough from your artificial intelligence assistant, it could be a smart investment. If you’re just a regular person, maybe don’t drop twenty grand or so for ChatGPT to get your query incorrect for the third time in a row.
There are other reasons to buy a pair of these specs, of course. They offer real-time translation, the in-lens display acts as a teleprompter when needed, and they’ll capture and transcribe conversations for you. They’re also capable of displaying notes, in case you forgot which meeting you’re attending. Reminders, notifications, and even directions are also possible with the Even G2.
The tricky bit is getting Even Realities’ glasses to South Africa. The company ships internationally, but good old SA isn’t one of the destinations. Still, if you’re adamant, a plan can be made.
