Oppo’s wristwatch line-up is one of the more underappreciated in the ever-expanding space. Not that long ago, we saw the company’s X3 get its start in China, and now it’s got another little one on the way. That would be the Oppo Watch X3 Mini, which trades the 1.5in LTPO OLED panel for a more manageable 1.32in AMOLED.
This being a cousin of the Watch X3, it makes sense that Oppo has recycled much of what made that one special. That’s true for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 chipset as well as the 2GB of RAM accompanying it. It does add eSIM capabilities into the mix, however, on top of GPS, NFC, and a skin temperature sensor.

It’s a pretty standard affair where the other sensors are concerned, supposedly offering more than 100 different sport modes. You’re also getting an accelerometer, barometer, pulse oximeter, gyro abilities, and a geomagnetic sensor. It’ll withstand 5 atmospheres of pressure (5ATM), making it ideal for a dip (or soak) in the pool.
Powering the thing is the same 354mAh battery, though made more impressive by the Mini’s scant dimensions. Oppo reckons it’ll net about a week of life when set to power-saving mode, while full smart mode knocks that down to a little under three days. Power up the always-on display, and it’ll need a charge in 1.5 days.

Where the X3 Mini makes a case for your bucks over anything else under Oppo’s umbrella is its looks. Not only is the display smaller (which tops out at 1,000 nits brightness and 466×466 resolution), but it’s loaded with the family’s crown jewels, colourful straps, and fancy dials. It may feel more at home on a slimmer wrist as opposed to the 47mm monstrosity that is the Watch X3.
It may be some time before you can slide your wrist into one of those colourful straps, we’re afraid. The Watch X3 Mini is currently confined to China, starting at CNY 1,800 (∼R4,400) without eSIM and CNY 2,000 (∼R4,800) with eSIM. Oppo’s watch efforts generally tend to make it over here just… at a later date. Seeing as we’re still awaiting official news for the Watch X3 launch locally, don’t get your hopes up for news anytime soon.
