Rideshare company Bolt has updated its app with a flight tracking function, which also allows the app to reschedule ride pick-ups based on delays or cancelled flights. The update gives users one less thing to worry about when dealing with unreliable flight times.
Bolt-ing to the corporate ladder
Bolt claims its suite of business-friendly updates, implemented with corporate travellers in mind, has resulted in a 275% explosion in flight pre-bookings on the platform. This includes features like scheduled rides (now extended to 90 days), centralised billing, and detailed reporting. The rideshare platform says airports are by far its users’ most popular destination. It has now partnered with over 30 airports globally to get access to flight schedules, including local airports like OR Tambo, Cape Town International, and King Shaka.
To use the feature, users only need to hit the ‘Schedule’ button on the app’s home screen. After entering the destination airport, they can select ‘Add flight details’ to input the flight’s landing date, airline, flight number, or departure city. The app should automatically keep track of any changes to the flight and adapt as necessary. Users can also choose how soon after landing they’d like their ride to arrive.
With this update, whenever a flight is cancelled or delayed, users don’t have to worry about wasting money by failing to reschedule in time or at all. It also saves users the extra time and stress of having to open the app and order a new ride. The company plans to invest in its airport-bound corporate user base even more, with features to make spotting pick-up areas for drivers and riders easier, coming soon.
