Well, that didn’t take long. Only a few months after Acer unveiled the Predator Atlas 8, the company unveiled another one at IFA in Berlin this year. That would be the Acer Predator Atlas 7. No, we haven’t forgotten how numbers work. That ‘7’ is referring to the 7in 16:9 FHD display it’s now rocking — smaller than its brethren.
Atlas 7 incoming
Everything that made the initial Predator Atlas 8 such a specimen is still present in the Atlas 7. The first rendition is seemingly still on track for release in October, and EMEA is on the guest list. Acer South Africa reckons the Predator Atlas 7 is also headed for our shores — in November, apparently — but pricing is still unknown.
The Atlas 7 is powered by up to an Intel Arc G3 Extreme processor and up to Intel Arc B390 graphics. You’ll only manage to cram up to 24GB of LPDDR5x RAM inside, with storage topping out at 1TB. Once again, it mimics the Atlas 8’s 80Wh battery, though there’s also a 60Wh variant if you don’t see yourself taking it on the go. Two Thunderbolt 4 ports and a microSD card reader line the edges, with Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 supported.

If you’ve got the money, the 8in model seems like a no-brainer. Both feature a 120Hz refresh rate, VRR support, and 500 nits of brightness. But Acer’s intention with this release is to make the handheld a bit easier to hold. The grips have been refreshed, and an enlarged palm rest area, recessed keys, and anti-slip texture have been added.
All that’s missing now is pricing. We reckon we’ll only get that closer to release, which, again, is set for November (EMEA). The Predator Atlas 8, which should be along in October, will give us a rough idea of what we can expect to pay locally. Pricing for that model, too, is MIA at the time of writing. We did get a good look at the 7, though.
