It’s a new month, which means it’s time to hit up Amazon for the next round of free PC games it regularly offers Prime customers (Prime Video will suffice in South Africa). If you missed out on December’s freebies, not to worry — some of the best games like Deus Ex: Mankind Divided and Lego 2K Drive are still up for grabs, alongside a fresh slate of titles. Kicking 2026 off right comes the turn-based strategy Sid Meier’s Civilization VI.
What backlog?
You might be sceptical that Amazon, of all companies, is handing out free games — especially games you’ve heard of before. Even better, there’s no catch. Once these are added to your account, they’re yours to keep forever. All that’s required to claim them is an Amazon Prime subscription (again, Prime Video will do) and a working calendar. It’ll speed up the process if you rock up with your Epic Games and GoG accounts at the ready.
Once you’ve got a working Prime Video login, visit Amazon’s Luna site here. Sign in, and you’ll find a list of games that are available to claim. Some games are tied to Epic Games, GoG, and Amazon’s own gaming platform. Become friendly with the Ctrl + C and V shortcuts, and you’ll breeze through the redemption process in no time.
