Apple has something new coming down the pipe. That ‘something’ is a new M5 version of the company’s MacBook Pro. Or a collection of them. Apple tends not to release singular items, unless they’re more or less experimental.
Take the M5
The company’s Greg Joswiak, senior vice president of global marketing, tweeted a teaser for whatever the American company is cooking up. It’s not much — a brief silhouette of a partially open MacBook Pro — but it’s enough for folks to take Apple’s meaning.
If the V-shaped tease and Joswiak’s five-letter ‘Mmmmm’ in the tweet itself aren’t enough of a clue, there’s Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman to fall back on. Gurman has been telling the world that there’s an M5 MacBook Pro due out any day now.
It could be just the tip of the iceberg for the upcoming Apple announcement. Also expected are M5 versions of the brand’s iPad Pro lineup, possibly as soon as this week, as well as a revamped Apple Vision Pro headset with upgraded hardware. The tablets are a given, since they’ve turned up online already, and it’s about time for the headset to have another outing, too.
When this will take place is a mystery, as is much of what Apple does when it’s not leaving its products lying around in public. An announcement could surprise us this week, or perhaps Samsung knows something we don’t and is planning to pre-empt its competitor’s announcement with one of its own. We’ll see shortly.
