Right off the back of that underwhelming Partner Direct, Nintendo’s hoping it can assuage any ill will with another showcase, set to go live later today. This time it’ll be a tight fifteen-minute-long Indie World showcase, so it’s probably best not to get your hopes up for anything big to be revealed for the Switch 2. If Chillin’ by the Fire was saved for that last proper Direct, we shudder to imagine what’s in store for today.
Everything but a first-party Nintendo Direct
Still, that isn’t going to stop us from watching Indie World, scheduled to go live at 15h00 local time. It’ll be shown on the official Nintendo YouTube and Twitch channels, but we’ve also embedded the stream in this article to make finding it again that much easier. If you don’t have the time, Stuff will hit you with a quick breakdown of everything that was announced at the showcase.
As for what could be shown off at the event, your guess is as good as ours. We’re personally rooting to get news on Supergiant Games’ Hades II, which was confirmed to be a Switch console exclusive earlier this year.
There’s next to no chance Team Cherry’s Hollow Knight: Silksong will make an appearance, despite technically fitting the criteria as an Indie World candidate. We’d love to be proven wrong, but with the sort of hype the metroidvania has generated, Microsoft higher-ups are likely hoarding any news about the game for Gamescom this August, after Xbox announced a demo would be playable on its co-opted ROG Xbox Ally handhelds.
