Checkers’ has partnered with Petshop Science, a retail chain of stores selling pet-related goods, to offer same-day pet product delivery on its Sixt60 online shopping app. Pet owners can now enjoy the platform’s signature 60-minute delivery time. The service has launched in three provinces and will roll out to the rest of the country by the end of July.

Sixty60 users can now take advantage of Checkers’ 3,500-strong pet product range from the comfort of the couch, shipped from Petshop Science’s stores around the country. Delivery costs will range from R35 to R50, depending on the size of the order.
It shouldn’t be much of a surprise that, like the rest of the world, the pet market is one of the fastest-growing in the South African economy. Petshop Science has ridden that wave to a dominant 143 stores across eight provinces. In the second half of 2024, the group saw a sales explosion of 56.9%. Sixty60 wants a piece of the pie, and increasing the ease of delivery will likely take those figures even further.

Pet owners needn’t stress over quantity, as any amount of food can be delivered within the platform’s delivery time. Let the delivery man worry about carrying that 25kg bag of Bobtail treats. The service is currently live in Cape Town, Gauteng and the Eastern Cape, with a national rollout to follow by the end of July 2025.
Subscribers to Checkers’ Xtra Savings Plus program get free delivery for any products costing more than R350. The supermarket brand is also giving users R50 cashback on their Sixty60 wallets for their first five orders.
