Samsung unveils Black Friday deals for November 2024

It may only be the first of November, but Samsung isn’t messing about where Black Friday is concerned. Traditionally, stores save their best deals until the last Friday of the month but South Africa does things a little differently. Samsung unveiled its catalogue of Black Friday deals earlier today, which run from today until Monday, 2 December.

Is that all you got?

“This year, the tech giant is rolling out the red carpet for South Africans, and redefining the Black Friday narrative as an opportunity for every shopper to become the leading character in their own shopping story,” Samsung South Africa said in a press release.

For being one of the most recognisable (and well-off) brands, we’re somewhat disappointed in Samsung’s selection of deals this year. The campaign covers a small range of the more expensive TVs, soundbars, washing machines, and fridges, ensuring any great deals will be found elsewhere.

If you’re the type willing to spend R100,000 on the Samsung 98in QLED Q80C, you’re not going to get hot and bothered about R30,000 worth of gifts. Even if the bundle includes a Galaxy Watch Ultra, Q-Series Soundbar (HW-Q800D), and the Galaxy Tab A9. Why? Because you’ve probably already got them.

The next best thing is the 55in QNX1D Neo QLED, currently on sale for R20,000 – R5,000 less than the usual price. Up that to 75in on the QLED 4K QE1D Tizen (2024), and you can save R6,000 on the R17,000 cost price. And finally, there’s the 65in DU7010 Crystal UHD for R9,500, making it the only sub-R10,000 TV on sale.

Those are joined by the two deals running on monitors, the best of which is the R8,000 32in M70D, though if it’s an affordable price you’re after, you can’t go wrong with the 32in CR50. As for the soundbars on offer, Samsung put an R18,000 price on the head of the Q-Series Soundbar Q990D while the Q-Series HW-Q800D gets an R8,000 price – down R3,000.
